Air Sole air cushion in Jordan sneakers
Air Jordan 11, known as Mr. Joe's favorite sneaker, introduced groundbreaking features. It became the first basketball shoe to utilize a carbon fiber anti-torsion plate and patent leather, marking the final use of Air Sole air cushion in Jordan sneakers. The incorporation of a shagreen design and extensive use of nylon made AJ11 exceptionally lightweight. Tinker and the design team employed rapid photography technology to analyze Jordan's movements on the court, identifying issues and introducing an uncut thread carbon fiber layer to the sole. This innovation, initially used in rugby shoes, prevented distortion and rapidly restored the soles after deformation, providing guardians with a quicker startup speed. The carbon fiber support layer became an iconic feature in future basketball shoe designs.
