The Cleveland Cavaliers are a professional basketball team belonging to Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio, and are part of the Midfield Division of the Eastern Conference of the American Basketball Professional League (NBA).
In 1970, the Cleveland Cavaliers were formally established and joined the NBA League. In 2003, the Cavaliers selected No. 1 pick LeBron James. Under the leadership of James, the Cavaliers entered the NBA Finals for the first time in 2007, but lost to the Spurs 0-4. In the 2011 draft, the Cavaliers drafted Kyrie Irving with the No. 1 pick, and the team went into reconstruction. On July 12, 2014, James announced his return to the Cavaliers. In the summer of the same year, through signing and trading, the Cavaliers formed the Cavaliers Big Three of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.
On June 20, 2016, the Cavaliers defeated the Warriors to win the 2015-16 championship. On June 13, 2017, the Cavaliers won the 2016-17 NBA runner-up. On July 24, 2017, the Cavaliers officially appointed Kobe Altman as general manager of the team.
